Phoenix, AZ – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-17 After Traffic Stop Leaves Three Injured

Phoenix, AZ (January 18, 2026) – Three people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash on I-17 near Glendale Avenue early Sunday morning, January 18. Phoenix Police reported the incident began shortly after 1:00 a.m. when officers attempted a traffic stop near Indian School Road. The driver allegedly fled, leading to a collision with another vehicle on the freeway. Two men and one woman inside the struck vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Fire crews initially reported the woman’s injuries as critical before her condition stabilized. Debris from the crash blocked multiple lanes as traffic was diverted. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is assisting with the investigation.
