Phoenix, AZ – Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on I-17 Near Jomax Rd

Phoenix, AZ (November 20, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, November 18, claimed one life and left another person with life-threatening injuries on Interstate 17 near Jomax Road. The Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to the scene around 1:15 p.m.

According to DPS, a Jeep passenger vehicle left the roadway, went through a fence, and overturned. Troopers and Phoenix Fire crews arrived to find a white Jeep Wrangler that had veered off the nearby frontage road. A silver Chevrolet Silverado traveling on the interstate was also involved in the crash.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. Officials have not released the names of those involved. ADOT cameras showed heavy disruption in the area as emergency crews worked to assist the injured and clear the scene.

Authorities have not released further details about what caused the Jeep to leave the roadway. Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased victim, and we hope the injured individual receives the care needed for recovery.
